From the Overlook Area
(where Barranca del Pueblo is situated) the town of Taos is about a
ten-minute drive along this road, known as Old Highway 570, and the
main highway into Taos, State Highway 68. The subdivision of
Barranca del Pueblo is about 1/4 mile north of this paved road, via a
gravel road, built to county specifications. The Taos
Country Club and Golf Course is less than three miles from Barranca
del Pueblo toward town on this road.
The Overlook Area is south
of Taos, making for easy access from Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
Santa Fe is just over an hour south, and Albuquerque just over two.
There are frequent flights to and from Albuquerque International
Airport. There's also a
shuttle service as well as flights directly to Taos (Westward
Airways).
